Timothy V. Potter was born in Burns, Tennessee. He was raised by hardworking parents, and attended the University of Tennessee, at Knoxville. He received the Torchbearer Award (the highest honor presented to a graduating student). He then received a legal education from Vanderbilt Law School, and has been a trial lawyer in Middle Tennessee since 1995.
Mr. Potter’s litigation practice is diversified and is focused on both complex civil litigation and the representation of criminal defendants. He also provides legal advice for several governmental entities. Mr. Potter has successfully litigated numerous cases in state and federal courts. He works hard for his clients, and is respected as a skilled attorney and advocate.
Mr. Potter’s wife Amber is a career educator; they are very proud of their three grown children and a grandson. Mr. Potter has served on many boards and organizations, including a 10 year service as Chairman of the local Board of Education. He and his wife are active members of the First Presbyterian Church. In his free time, Mr. Potter enjoys playing golf and watching baseball.
